Life after graduation

May of 2024 felt just like yesterday. It was the longest yet the shortest time of my life, if that makes sense. Days were long but the months went fast. I look back on my time in school and I’m like, damn those 6 months changed me as a person. It tested me mentally. I cried A LOT. There were days I was told we were going to be doing a projects, working on clients, learning a new treatment. I thought I was going die. Is that dramatic? Hi, my name is Jenny Lashin. Dramatic is my middle name.

Finishing school felt odd. You go from having a routine every single day. Knowing your weekends are gonna be filled with something school related and then it’s Monday again! After graduation it felt like it was when the hard work has now officially started. Having to study for our two state boards. Which by the way, anything test related is the worst for me. I hate testing. So this part made me super nervous. Now that I have passed both tests and have sent in for my business license and my esthetics license, I just want to work. Put myself out there. Unfortunately if you are coming out of school and immediately wanting to go solo. You can’t use your temp license. Which has I guess made it feel even more drawn out. Although I’m looking at this as a time to do some back end work to get ready!
